Title The importance of Open Source in Cloud Computing Category General
Speaker Krishnan Subramanian Sponsor
Details There is an opinion that open source has no relevance in the Cloud Computing based world. In this talk, I will counter that opinion with strong arguments supporting the need to have open source in the middle of Cloud ecosystem. I will argue that along with open standards and data portability, open source is vital for the success of Cloud Computing. I will argue that Richard Stallman got it wrong when he dismissed Cloud Computing as an attempt for proprietary vendors to get through the backdoor.

Experience:
Krish is an entrepreneur in exile, open source and cloud computing evangelist, researcher, thinker, blogger and an ex-physicist.
